               1.2 mile swim for the Half, 1500m for the Olympic, 650m for the Sprint. Buoys every 100 meters. Wave starts @ 5 min. intervals (wave starts verses mass start will be determined according to the number of athletes). Wetsuit strippers will be provided.

Due to our unseasonably cold/long winter, the water temperature at Lake Tyler will be such that a wetsuit is  highly recommended! An update on the water temperarature will be emailed to all registrants the week prior to the race. At this time it is safe for you to assume that we will monitor the water temperature & under the recommendations of USAT, adjust the swim as needed, if necessary, according to raceday conditions. There is the unlikely possibility that the swim course be shortened. Please, when preparing for your swim, train in your wetsuit prior to raceday.   We will surely keep water temps posted on the homepage of this website. Predicted race day temp is 64-66 degrees.

Sprint Bike course 

The Sprint bike course follows the the Half, is out 7 miles, back seven miles. Back is a pretty fast ride.

All intersections manned by police. Flaggers at all turns. Motorcycle escort on lead cyclist. Sag support & radio communications.

 

 

 

 

Run Courses

Run Course  for the Half is "out-and-back" with aid stations located at each mile marker. Course is mostly shaded, smooth road surface with plenty of rollers. The Olympic follows the Half course & is also an out & back. The Sprint is a closed course, mostly flat, some offroad. This course is spectator friendly. You cant hide from your family!!

All run courses end at the finish arch with a downhill grassy surface. All participants will receive finisher medals.
